I don’t really understand what lifestyle photography is, please explain.
Ok, let’s say you are a person who is keen on playing golf, and you play regularly.  You have a game lined up with a few friends and you think it would be a good idea to have someone come along and take photos of you and your mates having a good time.  You  would love to have a group photo of you all to mark the day.  You call Purple Dog Images and discuss the event and the kind of images you want.  You book a photographer for the number of hours you can afford, perhaps your mates will chip in as well, making it even more cost effective.  A photographer comes along on the day, takes a whole load of digital photos, edits them and sends you a disc with all the best shots on (there is no limit to how many).  We could even supply you with quality prints at an additional but very competitive price.  That’s it!

This is clearly not limited to a game of golf!  You can be photographed taking part in absolutely anything you like. For example, horse riding, motorcycling, flying, climbing, walking your dog (this is a popular one), anything at all.

How far in advance would I need to book Lifestyle Photography?
A couple of weeks in advance is sufficient.  We are taking bookings now for the Spring and Summer 2015.

How far in advance would I need to book wedding photography?
As much as possible!  However, it may be that we’re available at short notice, call or email to ask about availability.

What time of the day will you come to my location?
Any time you wish.  If you have booked a Lifestyle session in an open-air location, the nature of the photo session is dependent on weather and lighting conditions.

Who owns the images that Purple Dog produces?
Purple Dog Images owns the rights to all imagery it produces.  However, the client has full control of their photos.  We promise not to sell any photo. We will only publish our favourite images on our own web site or other promotional material, with your permission.  The privacy and interests of the client are paramount. We are not interested in profiting from your imagery.

Is there a deposit to pay?
There is no deposit to pay. Just let us know if you need to cancel or reschedule the booking.

How do I pay?
Clients usually pay by bank transfer, cheque or cash.  In time there will be a facility to make payments via the web site using debit cards.

Are you VAT registered?
Not currently.

Why do you only offer your services in Essex and Hertfordshire?
Technically there is no limit to where we will go. However, there will be additional travel costs the further we need to travel. We love to take photos of people, but it is in everyone’s interests to keep costs down and use time efficiently.

How do I get my photos?
After the event, your images will be sent to you on a disc. One disc is included in one photo session.  We will aim to have your disc with you in one week.  Images cannot be emailed as the files are too large.

What equipment do you use?
Purple Dog Images favours ©Nikon photographic hardware. We produce images in RAW format at 24mp. RAW files are large in size but are the most workable.  The images are edited/touched if necessary, and converted to more manageable files using ©Adobe ©PhotoShop and ©Lightroom.   The files you get will be high quality jpg format, which can be opened in most image viewing applications.  All files are processed using ©Dell computer hardware.

What style of photos can I expect?
We will make and select a range of images to edit, including both colour and monotone (black & white). There is no separate/additional fee for editing time. It’s all included in the service.

Can you provide prints of my photos?
Yes. We can discuss this at the time.  Clearly, there will be additional cost for our printing service.

Who owns the photos on this web site?
All the images on this web site are from Purple Dog Images’ own photo library and are subject to all the usual copyright rules. Anyone wishing to use any of our imagery, must contact us to discuss.
